You can use the turrets mounted on the sides to attack this creature. One of them is a grapple turret that can temporarily hook Bal Rodos to the deck if shot on the face, but can only be used once every few minutes. You can tear off the scales on each segmented part of its body, along with the spikes that protrude on the upper and lower parts of each section. There's also some spikes on the head that can only be seen after breaking the face.
